Artist Statement
My work explores the day to day human experience through the lens of my own life and journey. I'm interested in the complexities of human connection within the natural world, particularly how landscape shapes our relationships and how our emotional states are reflected in the environments we inhabit. Nature serves as both witness and catalyst to our most intimate moments, influencing how we reach for each other and retreat into ourselves. Using bold colors and an illustrative style I examine how we navigate solitude, love, and friendship in connection with the landscape around us. My work captures people caught between aloneness and togetherness, desperation and hope, where the natural world becomes both backdrop and participant in these human dramas. Through vibrant color combinations that mirror the intensity of human emotion, each piece captures moments of vulnerability and authenticity. I want viewers to feel the energy vibrating off the canvas and recognize their own stories within these painted narratives.
